WE TOURED THE REAL MIGHTY DUCKS 1 ARENA!

Published:

The Mighty Ducks movie franchise played a huge role in most young hockey fan’s upbringing. The legendary escapades of Charlie Conway, Adam Banks, coach Gordon Bombay, and the rest of the team live deep in the nostalgia sector of our brains, and helped us to become the hockey fans we are.

While Hollywood does a great job of showing what we want to see, rather than what is real, the ice rink in which the first installment of Mighty Ducks was filmed IS a real rink! It’s located in New Hope, Minnesota, and it’s an absolute beauty.

With the World Juniors happening in Minnesota this year, Jesse happened to be in the area. He took a trip out to New Hope where they let him film a little arena tour. Juxtapose the new footage with REAL movie footage, and you can see a rink that has been very well preserved and has nostalgia seeping through the very walls of the place.

Not sure about you, but we may need to go back and watch the Mighty Ducks beat that turd sandwich Jack Riley again. Now that we’ve seen the behind the scenes, we’d like to go watch the IN FRONT of the scenes again.
