Canadian Nick Taylor stole the show on moving day at the PGA Championship, finishing his round in a tie for second after shooting an impressive 5-under 65. Taylor concluded his round one shot back of leader, Aaron Rai.

The Abbotsford, B.C., native sank five birdies on the day, while managing to card par on every other hole.

On Friday, Taylor shot a 2-over 71 to put him at 1-over for the week after a 1-under opening round.

The five-time PGA Tour winner held his own despite windy conditions and a challenging course setup, parring all but two holes on the day.

Taylor sat in a tie for 38th at the conclusion of his round, five shots back of leader Aldrich Potgieter at 4-under.

Fellow Canadian Taylor Pendrith also turned in a solid round and closed out his day just five shots back of the lead.

The Richmond Hill, Ont., native shot a 3-under 67 Saturday at a difficult Aronimink Golf Club to get him to 1-over for the week. Pendrith made the cut on the number Friday at 4-over par after a pair of 72s in his first two trips around the Newtown Square, Pa., course.

Pendrith took advantage of slightly softer conditions that came with his early morning tee time, carding six birdies and three bogeys on the day en route to his best round of the week. He sat in a tie for 44th at the conclusion of the round with Alex Smalley and Maverick McNealy holding the lead at 4-under.

Rounding out the day for the Canadians was Corey Conners, who struggled on the back nine on moving day.

The native of Listowel, Ont. bogeyed on six of the final seven holes on Saturday to finish his third round at 2-over, while sitting at 3-over through the tournament.

In round 2, Conners came into the day at 2-under, just one shot off the lead, but struggled to a 3-over 73 in Round 2. He made four bogeys and one birdie on his first nine holes and then rattled off nine straight pars on his second nine.
