Ducks weighing offers from two teams on McTavish, including Rangers

The Anaheim Ducks are weighing offers from the New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues on forward Mason McTavish, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.

McTavish, 23, is entering the second year of a six-year deal worth $42 million that pays $7 million per year. The fifth-year player scored 17 goals and tallied 41 points in 75 games with the Ducks this season.

McTavish slotted in at No. 7 on TSN’s Trade Bait board from earlier in June - a list that has already seen one player (former Buffalo Sabres defenceman Bowen Byram) sent to a new team since.

Vince Mercogliano of The Athletic also reports that Rangers forward Vincent Trocheck - who is No. 4 on the Trade Bait board - is not involved in the discussion with Anaheim.

McTavish helped guide the Ducks to the playoffs for the first time since 2017-18 this past season, where they advanced to the second round and were eliminated in six games by the Vegas Golden Knights.

A native of Zurich, Switzerland, McTavish has 77 goals and 181 points in 304 career NHL games - all with the Ducks - since he was selected with the third overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by Anaheim.
