The New York Islanders have signed unrestricted free agent forward Matias Maccelli and goaltender Vitek Vanecek to one-year deals.
Maccelli’s deal is for $2.25 million while Vanecek’s is for $1 million.
Maccelli, 25, was acquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs in June of 2025 from the Utah Mammoth in exchange for a draft pick.
He had 14 goals and 39 points in 71 games with the Maple Leafs last season.
The 5-foot-11 winger is coming off a three-year, $10.275 million contract that carried a cap hit of $3.425 million.
Drafted 98th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in 2019, Maccelli has 51 goals and 169 points in 295 career games split between the Coyotes, Mammoth, and Maple Leafs.
The Turku, Finland native represented his country at the 2020 World Juniors in a fourth-place finish.
Vanecek, 30, appeared in 22 games with the Utah Mammoth last season, going 5-13-3 with an .883 save percentage and 2.93 goals-against average.
The Havlickuv Brod, Czechia native has appeared in 210 NHL games, split between the Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers and Mammoth.
