Haiti’s second World Cup appearance and first since 1974 (where they lost all 3 matches) is one of the feel-good stories for 2026.

Head coach Sebastien Migne, appointed 18 months ago, has never been to the Caribbean island due to the conflict that has forced them to play their ‘home’ matches in Barbados, Aruba and Curacao but the togetherness and spirit of the team has pulled them through. Migne was assistant to Rigobert Song with Cameroon at the 2022 World Cup and 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.

Many players feature for teams across Europe but there’s also a familiar face in Derrick Etienne Jr. who left Toronto FC at the end of the 2025 season.
