Boychuk’s two first-half goals send Roses to win over Rapid

OTTAWA — Tanya Boychuk’s two first-half goals powered Montreal Roses FC to a 2-1 win over Ottawa Rapid FC in Northern Super League action Saturday afternoon.

Choo Hyojoo had the lone goal for Ottawa (3-3-0).

Boychuk opened the scoring at the 15-minute mark for Montreal (4-0-1). She added her second of the game 30 minutes later.

Hyojoo made it a one-goal game at the 62-minute mark. But that’s as close as Ottawa would get.

Montreal had 16 total shots with six on target. Ottawa had 14 shots with three being on target.
