Tampa Bay Lightning netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy has been named the 2026 Vezina Trophy winner, the NHL announced on Saturday.
The award is presented annually to the goalie voted the best at his position by NHL general managers.
Vasilevskiy led the NHL with a 39-15-4 record to go along with a 2.31 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.
He beat out New York Islanders netminder Ilya Sorokin and Boston Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman for the honour.
This is Vasilevskiy’s second Vezina Trophy of his career, previously winning in 2019 after registering a 39-10-4 record with a 2.40 GAA and .925 save percentage as the Lightning won the Presidents’ Trophy with a 62-16-4 record.
Drafted 19th overall by the Bolts in the 2012 draft, Vasilevskiy has a career 270-178-39 record with a 2.50 GAA and .917 save percentage.
He helped the Lightning to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021. The 6-foot-4 netminder won the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2021, registering a 1.90 GAA and .937 save percentage during their playoff run.
The Tyumen, Russia, native represented his country three times at the World Hockey Championship, winning gold in 2014 and bronze in 2017 and 2019.
Winnipeg Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck won the Vezina last season after going 47-12-3 with a 2.00 GAA and .925 save percentage.
