Flyers sign Foerster to eight-year, $56.8 million contract extension

Published:

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Tyson Foerster to an eight-year, $56.8 million contract extension on Wednesday.

Foerster, 24, scored 13 goals with 17 points in 29 games last season as he missed five months after arm surgery in December. He returned at the beginning of April and skated in all 10 playoff games for the Flyers, scoring one goal.

“We’re excited to have Tyson be a key part of our long-term future,” said Flyers general manager Daniel Briere. “He has established himself as an important piece of the foundation we’re building here. Since coming up through our system, he’s continued to improve and develop every step of the way into a consistent offensive contributor while also being a trusted and reliable 200-foot player. We have a great deal of confidence in him and believe he’ll play a significant role as we continue building toward a successful team for years to come.”

Drafted 20th overall by the Flyers in 2020, Foerster has scored 61 goals with 100 points in 195 career NHL games.

He is heading into the second season of a two-year, $7.5 million contract with an AAV of $3.75 million he signed in May of 2025.
